It’s coming to the end of the year so I thought I’d upload some of the harder moves and combos I’ve been working on. Still very scruffy in places but that’s okay, I can work on it next year .
I like words. I find them amusing. I also like hooping. Hence me liking words that describe hooping. For example, I’m very fond of the humorous phrase used in the film “The Hudsucker Proxy” that describes the hula hoop as an “extruded plastic dingus”. It just rolls off the tongue in a very satisfying manner.
This morning I woke up and discovered that I was eager, as I usually am, for some heteroparametric excitation. This may or may not mean what you think it means. The phrase comes from a maths paper I came across called: “Hula-Hoop: An Example of Heteroparametric Excitation“. I’m not overly adept at maths so I completely failed to get anywhere with this paper but from now on I might refer to hooping as going off to heteroparametrically excite my extruded plastic dingus.
I just filmed my granny hooping. She’s really pretty good! You should definitely check her out.
Some time ago I filmed this little video with Emma Kerr, Gail O’Brien, Nick Broyd and Jo Mondy. It has lots of fun bits in it and exciting toys such as the Dodecahedroop and the Inflatihoop. It was filmed on location in Bristol and Brighton. Enjoy xx.
Well this site isn’t finished yet by any means but I’ll be doing lots to it over the next few weeks so I thought it was time to officially launch. This is my new hoop website. I’ll post new videos and articles in the blog and use it as an index of all the hoop related stuff I have on the internet. Circles xx
